Camino de Santiago
In Memoriam Yian Tze Ang

In June 2007, my friend Yian Tze Ang with Peter Chin and their son Julian, traveled to Spain and walked part of the Camino de Santiago, from Roncesvalles until Santiago de Compostella.

She kept a journal during this pilgrimage and published it on her Multiply site for her family and friends.

In December 2010, after a brave fight with cancer, she passed away.

Multiply is a free site, so there is no guarantee that this journal will be preserved for the future. Therefore I have, with permission from her children, extracted these journals from the Multiply site and converted them to Word documents. One document for each day of their pilgrimage.

Here is a map of the Camino, followed by Yian and her family. Click on a marker for a popup window with information about that specific day. Click on the link to download, or read online, the report for that day.

These pages have been written by Yian after her return to Malaysia, in the period July-December 2007, based on the notes she took during the trip.

During that period she was diagnosed with a malignant tumor, and that may be the reason that the report remains unfinished; the last part, from San Irena to Santiago is missing.

As nowadays many of the "albergues" have Internet, she also wrote a blog during the pilgrimage, which you can read or download here.
